Our story.
Our little slice of paradise

Delicate Fabric

In June 2018, just 8 short months after getting married in beautiful Central Tilba, we packed up our apartment and city lifestyle in the heart of the Sydney CBD, and moved to paradise! Our dogs, Tilly, Tana and little Piper couldn’t be happier living in the countryside where they enjoy runs on the beach, keeping their eye on the goats next door, and of course, welcoming our guests.

We are thrilled to have made the sea/tree change to this unique and special part of the world. We are truly grateful each day to wake up in these surrounds and to be part of a beautiful community.

Since purchasing Tilba Coastal Retreat, we have been working hard to improve our properties infrastructure with thought-out improvements and renovations.

All suites have had full makeovers, and our grounds have been cleared, managed and manicured to mitigate bushfire risk whilst enhancing the natural beauty.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands where we work and live, the Djiringanj people of the Yuin nation. We pay respect to Ancestors and Elders, past, present and future.

We can’t wait to welcome you soon to our little slice of paradise.

Sustainably future focused

Here at Tilba Coastal Retreat we are improving and evolving each day, to ensure we are future focused. We have listed some of the sustainability measures we have created so far in this journey:

Waste Minimisation

  • Recycling in all suites

  • We clean all suites using only Earth Products

Water saving initiatives

  • We manage all our properties dwellings and gardens purely from rain water, with 3 large water tanks onsite

  • Water saving toilets and taps installed

  • No baths in suites – water saving showers only

Energy Reduction

  • Instant gas hot water for each suite

  • Eco-architecturally designed north facing aspect for two dwellings, with 6 metre ceilings

  • Cross flow ventilation in all suites

  • Polished concrete floors in two dwellings, acting as thermal insulator

  • Wood fire indoor and outdoor heating to some dwellings

  • All firewood collected and used from our own properties fallen trees

  • Spa bath has been removed, (reducing both water and energy consumption)
